Services
SVITZER-COESS’ powerful tugs are deployed for the most demanding towage assignments in the offshore and maritime industries. The towing alliance specialises in the towage and transport of:
· Floating Production, Storage and Off-loading units (FPSOs)
· Floating Storage and Off-loading units (FSOs)
· Semi-submersible and jack-up drilling rigs (MODUs)
· Offshore structures
· Offshore cargo barges and jacket launch barges
· Floating docks
· Ships and floating objects of all types
These units are also available for marine salvage operations. In addition, SVITZER and COESS play an important role in protecting the marine environment by providing Emergency Towing Vessels to national governments.
Offshore construction and installation projects involve structures that are massive in terms of weight and volume. Beyond huge semi-submersible crane vessels (SSCVs), heavy transportation barges are often required. Cargoes may arise in several construction yards, possibly in different continents.
The sequence of arrivals must be seamlessly linked to the installation programme and the crane vessel’s work schedule. This is why installation contractors often entrust all project tows to SVITZER-COESS, as a preferred towage provider.
Operating procedures and quality standard
SVITZER-COESS maintains the highest standards of safety, health, quality and protection of the environment. These standards are applied by the company’s highly experienced personnel. Compliance with procedures and standards is subject to continuous monitoring. As the commercial and operational manager of the SVITZER-COESS alliance SVITZER Ocean Towage BV’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System is approved by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.
Comprehensive databases concerning earlier tows and transports across the world, including environmental aspects, contribute much to SVITZER Ocean Towage BV’s methodical project preparation.
Continuity in shore-based operational management also receives high priority. Inspections, engineering and all pre-voyage preparations are subject to the closest control. The company’s experienced Towmasters and Marine Superintendents are always on hand to assist.
